The wider network

Channel i Bangladesh

The network Channel i USA comes from, and where to find it. These are Bangladesh and global properties, operated separately from this website.

Bangladesh's first satellite channel

Channel i went on air on 1 October 1999 as the first satellite television channel in Bangladesh. It broadcasts twenty-four hours a day, with a satellite footprint covering most of six continents, and has held a leading share among the country’s non-terrestrial channels for more than a decade.

The schedule carries entertainment and drama alongside educational, developmental and research programming. Channel i was the first satellite channel in Bangladesh to broadcast a modern western-themed programme using digital technology, and Channel i News built its standing on neutral, credible coverage.

The network was also the first in Bangladesh to make the diaspora a regular subject rather than an occasional feature. Its slogan, Hridoye Bangladesh, Probase o Bangladesh, meaning Bangladesh in the heart and Bangladesh abroad, states the intent plainly, and it is the reason a United States operation exists at all.
